United Nations Equates Sandinista Nicaragua with Nazism

Nicaragua released and expelled to the United States 222 detained members of Nicaragua’s opposition, stripping them of their citizenship, in a surprise move by the Central American country’s increasingly authoritarian president, Daniel Ortega.

Among the regime’s targets, Bishop Rolando Álvarez, one of the strongest critics of the regime, was stripped of his citizenship and sentenced on Feb. 9 to 26 years in prison after refusing exile as commanded by Ortega.
