AM 1260 The Rock Observes Day of Prayer and Fasting for Priests
Priesthood Sunday, the last Sunday of October, is a special day set aside to honor the priesthood in the United States. This year the day falls on October 28, 2018. It is a day to reflect upon and affirm the role of the priesthood in the life of the Church as a central one.
AM 1260 The Rock is marking the occasion with a Day of Prayer and Fasting for Priests on Friday, October 26th. What does this mean for you? We invite you to join us as we pray and sacrifice for the priests of our diocese. Here are a variety of ways to participate:
Attend Mass: The 8 AM Mass at Mary Queen of Peace will be celebrated for all priests. Or, attend Mass at your own parish.
Pray: Several locations throughout the diocese are welcoming AM 1260 The Rock listeners to come and pray for our priests. Click HERE for the list of churches and shrines and the hours available.
Join in prayer with our on-air devotions including the Divine Mercy Chaplet at 3 PM and the Holy Rosary at 6 PM.
Fast: Skip a feast for your priest! Be a fast-er for your Pastor! Abstain from liquor for your parochial vicar. Make some small act of sacrifice for a priest you know, or perhaps one you don’t.
Thank you in advance for joining us in this effort to provide spiritual support for those who shepherd us on the road to heaven, and who bring us the Divine Gift, our blessed Lord in the Holy Eucharist.
This nationwide event is coordinated by the USA Council of Serra International. It is sponsored by the USA Council of Serra International and the Serra International Foundation.
