Divine Mercy Sunday @ Queen of Heaven Church

Divine Mercy Sunday will be celebrated
by Catholics on April 7, 2024. The prayer service begins at 2:30 pm with exposition of the
Blessed Sacrament. At 3 pm, the Divine Mercy Chaplet will be prayed, followed by benediction
of the Blessed Sacrament and veneration of the Divine Mercy image. Social follows.
This celebration was declared by His Holiness Saint John Paul II in 2000 as requested of St.
Faustina, and recorded in her diary, to be held the first Sunday after Easter at the 3 o’clock hour,
the appointed time of Christ’s death. The 600-page diary of Polish nun Faustina Kowalska recorded the revelations she received about God’s mercy. The message was simply to ask for
mercy from God, be merciful to others and completely trust in Jesus.
