Contrapunctus Early Music: a High Voices Ensemble is a professional vocal ensemble of
sopranos, altos and countertenors, based in Cleveland OH, specializing in the performance of
sacred and secular music from the Middle Ages through the modern era. Contrapunctus Early
Music combines polyphony, literature, art and dialogue to create exceptional music – all performed
within an historical context.
Under the leadership of Musical Director David Acres and Executive Director Dr. Judith Overcash
Acres, this concert explores Marian music for upper voices, including works by Hildegard von Bingen,
Brahms, Faure, Ola Gjeilo, Holst, Josquin, Mozart, Palestrina, Alan Smith, Tartini and the World
Premier of a new work by Graham Keitch.
