Welcome Bishop Malesic!

Welcome Bishop Malesic!

On July 16th, the announcement was made that Pope Francis has appointed the Most Rev. Edward C. Malesic, Bishop of Greensburg, PA, as the 12th Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Cleveland.  Bishop Malesic succeeds Most Rev. Nelson J. Perez, who was appointed Archbishop of Philadelphia earlier this year.

AM 1260 The Rock was pleased to carry Bishop-designate Malesic’s press conference and his first Mass from the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist.  We look forward to his installation on September 14th and to working with him as he makes the transition to shepherd the people of Northeast Ohio.

We also want to extend our warmest thanks and appreciation for Diocesan Administrator Fr. Donald P. Oleksiak, who has been so gracious and accommodating in giving his time to AM 1260 The Rock, both as a guest on “Table Talk,” and in support of our pledge drive.

Please join us in praying for Bishop Malesic:
God, eternal shepherd, you tend your Church in many ways and rule us with love.  You have chosen your servant, Most Reverend Edward Malesic, Bishop of Greensburg, to be the shepherd of your flock in the Diocese of Cleveland. Give him a spirit of courage and right judgment, a spirit of knowledge and love. By governing with fidelity those entrusted to his care, may he build your Church as a sign of salvation for the world.
