Schola Cantorum Free Concert

Join Mary Queen of Peace parish for a free concert on April 21st. This is part of their Great Music in a Great Space series. The Schola will sing at the 4:30 pm Saturday mass and then present their concert following that mass at 6pm.

They will be hosting the Schola Cantorum from Franciscan University of Steubenville. The Schola Cantorum Franciscana, under the direction of Professor Nicholas Will, is an elite 30-voice liturgical choir comprised of students of Franciscan University of Steubenville as well as members of the wider community. As an integral part of the university’s Sacred Music Program, the Schola performs the best of the Church’s musical patrimony primarily within its intended liturgical context. While the group’s repertoire spans the breadth of the Catholic-Christian tradition, its specialization lies in music of the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries.
