Modern Fertility Awareness Conference
February 23 @ 8:30 am - 5:00 pm
The Modern Fertility Awareness for Family Planning and Women’s Health conference is being held at the DoubleTree Hilton in Independence on Saturday, February 23, 2019 from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM. This one-day conference is sponsored by the Fertility Appreciation Collaborative to Teach the Sciences (FACTS), a project of the Family Medicine Education Consortium (FMEC). The goal of the conference is to close the knowledge gap about modern, evidence-based fertility awareness based methods (FABMs) of family planning, by which women can chart observable, external signs that reflect the hormonal changes of their reproductive cycles. Women can use this information to monitor their health or plan for their families. Medical professionals trained in FABMs can use this detailed history to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of common reproductive health concerns.
Featured topics and speakers include:
*The use of FABMs in every stage of life *FABMs and their applications in PCOS, endometriosis, and more *The latest on fertility awareness apps *The female cycle as the 5th vital sign *Q&A with experts in fertility awareness *Overview of fertility awareness for women’s health and family planning *”Using Fertility Awareness-Based Methods to Aid in the Diagnosis and Monitor the Treatment of Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome” from Dr. Christine Cimo Hemphill, MD, Board Certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology *”Evidence for the Use of NFP and LAM During the Postpartum Transition to Fertility” from Dr. Richard J. Fehring, PhD, RN, Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing *Up to 6.50 CME credits available
Early-bird registration is now open with special rates for physicians, residents, FABM Educators and students. Non-medical professionals should register as FABM Educators. Rates will increase on January 25, 2019.
