Interfaith memorial prayer service for the victims and the community of the Sri Lankan bombings to be held at the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist

on Sunday, April 28 at 7:30 p.m.

(CLEVELAND, OH) – The Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist will host a memorial prayer service led by the Most Reverend Nelson J. Perez, bishop of the Diocese of Cleveland, to remember all victims, deceased and living, of the Sri Lanka bombings on Sunday, April 28 at 7:30 p.m.

Members of the ecumenical and interfaith religious leadership will be joining Bishop Perez, along with people of the Sri Lankan community and people of all faiths, to express support for the living who face challenges as a result of the acts of violence and to pray for those who died during this tragedy.

The service of prayer and reflection will include the Sri Lankan Choir of Greater Cleveland.

On April 24, Bishop Perez released a statement on the terrorist attacks stating, “I ask all people of good will to join me in prayer for those who died, those who were injured and their families. We also remember all Sri Lankans – including those in our diocese – in prayer during this difficult time.”  To read the full statement, visit dioceseofcleveland.org and click on the NEWS tab.

This service is open to all people and religions throughout Northeast Ohio.  Parking is available at the Cathedral Square parking garage and surface parking lot just east of the parking garage.

The Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist is at 1007 Superior Ave. in downtown Cleveland, at the corner of East 9th Street and Superior Avenue.
