Cleveland Chamber Choir sings Lux Caelestis: A Prism of Sacred Music
Date: 11/8/2019
Location: Cathedral of St John the Evangelist; 1007 Superior Ave (at E 9th St), Cleveland 44114
Under the direction of Director Scott MacPherson, Cleveland Chamber Choir is committed to giving voice to living composers. Since its debut in 2015, the Choir has commissioned and/or given premieres of ten works during its first four seasons. The Cleveland Chamber Choir organization is a family of performing artists, administrators, and audience members brought together in the philosophy that choral music is a vehicle for good in the world. Celebrating their fifth season, CCC presents Lux Caelestis: A Prism of Sacred Music. Each piece illuminates different aspects of light, the eternal, God, and fire throughout: divine, powerful, creative, sacred, luminous, guiding, and loving. Additional works by Allegri, Hildegard von Bingen, McDowall, & Kachelmeier.
