  • September 2025 On-Air Prayers

    September 2025 On-Air Prayers

Every month, you’ll hear special prayers read during breaks on AM 1260 The Rock. Here are September’s prayers:

Prayer to St. Joseph the Worker

Glorious St. Joseph, model of all those who are devoted to labor, obtain for me the grace to work conscientiously, putting the call of duty above my many sins, to work with thankfulness and joy, considering it an honor to employ and develop by means of labor the gifts received from God, to work with order, peace, prudence and patience, never surrendering to weariness or difficulties, to work, above all, with purity of intention and with detachment from self, having always death before my eyes and the account which I must render of time lost, of talents wasted, of good omitted, of vain complacency in success so fatal to the work of God.

All for Jesus, all for Mary, all after thy example, O Patriarch Joseph. Such shall be my motto in life and death.

    Amen.

A Farmer’s Prayer to St. Joseph

O glorious St. Joseph, foster father of Jesus, you did provide for the Holy Family. We commit to your protection all our crops and farm industries. Dane, we beseech you to intercede in our behalf with Almighty God, who rules the seasons so that our fields being safe from pests and favored by the weather may yield abundant crops that will allow us to supply the wants of life.

Thus freed from earthly worries, may we, after your example, apply all our thoughts to eternal life. We beseech you to instill a love of the land into the hearts of our youth for their own salvation and that of Christian unity so that we may all share hereafter in the same blissful life you enjoy in Heaven.

    Amen.

    July 2025 On-Air Prayers

Every month, you’ll hear special prayers read during breaks on AM 1260 The Rock. Here are July’s prayers:

July 1 – 15: Mother Angelica Prayer for our Country

Lord God, I ask in all humility that You bless this country, as unworthy as we are.

    Protect it from every evil.

    Protect it from the enemy.

Protect it Lord, that it may accomplish Thy will, and keep Thy commandments.

I ask, Lord, with a pleading heart, to look down upon us in our unworthiness.

Give this country a renewal of devotion to You, to Your Law, to Your commandments, Lord.

Let us be once more a country under You, may we once more say “In God we trust.”

Guide us and protect this country from every evil and every harm.

    Amen

July 16 – 31: Prayer for Vacation (courtesy of https://www.catholicprayercards.org)

Heavenly Father, when your work of creation was complete, you rested.

Lord, during our vacations from the cares and burdens of everyday life, please renew us physically, mentally, and spiritually.

Help us to slow down and take delight in your magnificent creation and in all those we will share this time with.

Help us to embrace this period of leisure and regain strength to continue our journey through life.

By leaving our work behind for these days, may we focus our gaze on you, and reflect on what is important in life.

Remind us to pray each day since we are taking this vacation with you, not away from you.

May you keep us safe in our travels and protect us from all harm.

May we be revitalized and refreshed so that we may return to carry out our daily responsibilities with joy and newfound enthusiasm.

    Amen

Let knowledge and understanding increase our capacity for empathy and compassion.

Let reverence and awe fill us with gratitude and respect for all creation.

Give us the courage to witness boldly to our faith in word and deed.

Through and with and in Jesus Christ, we pray.

    Amen.

    A Father’s Prayer

    Heavenly Father,

I thank you for the gift of my family, for whom I now pray and upon whom I now ask you to shower your blessings.  With St. Joseph as my guide, may I always be ready to spend my life for them.

Bless my wife whom you have given to me as a spouse, sharing in your wonderous work of creation.  May I treat her with the love of Christ for his Church. May Mary be her guide and help her to find your peace and your grace.

Bless my children with your life and presence.  May the example of your son be the foundation upon which their lives are built, that the Gospel may always be their hope and support.

I ask you, Father, to protect and bless my family.  Watch over it so that in the strength of your love its members may possess the gift of your peace and always bear witness to your glory in the world.

    Amen.
