5th Annual Young Adult Retreat

The young adults of the Byzantine Catholic Eparchy of Parma are excited to invite you to our 5th Annual Young Adult Retreat, taking place from July 31 to August 3, 2025, at St. Mary Byzantine Catholic Church in Marblehead, Ohio. This retreat is open to unmarried young adults ages 18–39 and offers a unique opportunity to grow in faith, serve others, and build lasting community. The weekend will be centered around our three foundational pillars: spirituality, service, and socialization.
The retreat will begin on Thursday, July 31, with registration opening at 12:00 PM. That afternoon, we’ll kick off with a service project (details to be announced), giving participants a chance to connect through meaningful work. Friday will focus on spirituality, featuring teachings from Fr. Thomas Loya, Hieromonk Seoirse of Holy Resurrection Monastery, and Mothers from Christ the Bridegroom Monastery. Together, they will guide us in exploring the essence of prayer and how to cultivate a deeper spiritual life. We will also participate in the Daily Office, experiencing the richness of liturgical prayer beyond what is typically celebrated in parish life.
Saturday will be a day of fellowship and reflection as we travel by ferry to Kelleys Island. There, retreatants will have time to relax, explore, and enjoy the natural beauty of the area while reflecting on the spiritual insights gained in the previous days. We’ll return to the church grounds in the evening to close out the day together. On Sunday, we will conclude the retreat with the Divine Liturgy, celebrated with the parish community of St. Mary’s. This final act of worship will serve as a culmination of all we’ve experienced, offering our gratitude to God. After Liturgy, we’ll share closing remarks before departing.
